Amazon has officially confirmed Pakistan’s addiction to its Sellers’ List. This was stated by Adviser to PM for Commerce and Industries, Mr. Abdul Razak Dawood.
He took tot he twitter to announce the good news.
‘it is a big accomplishment for our E-Commerce & will open up vast opportunities for a new breed of young men & women entrepreneurs.’
He congratulated everyone who worked for this achievement. Previously Pakistan was not on the approved Seller list of Amazon, which meant that anyone desirous to sell on Amazon had to have an account registered off-shore.
The normal procedure of opening a seller account outside Pakistan Involved registering a company in another company and opening a bank account of that company in an off-shore bank while transferring out the funds from Pakistan.
This remained a tedious process and took considerable time.
Now with Pakistan added to Amazon’s official list, it is expected that seller account opening will be streamlined and will take less time.
