According to international media reports, Argentina plans to purchase twelve JF-17 Thunder fighters from Pakistan.
Argentina officially budgeted $ 664 million to fund the purchase of 12 PAC JF-17A Block III fighters from Pakistan in its proposed 2022 budget, according to one report.
Argentina’s plan to purchase JF17 planes is still in infancy as it has yet to sign any agreement with Pakistan. However, keeping in view the cost effective and complete solution, JF17 Thunder remains a viable option for Argentina and it has shown inclination for the same.
Argentina has tried to buy planes from several other countries in the world over the past two years, but there has always been a lack of money or Blockages from British Lobby. The UK recently blocked the sale of South Korean fighters to Argentina last year.
Argentina’s defense minister described the change as Britain’s “imperial pride”.
The JF-17 can be used for a variety of missions including interception, ground attack, ship combat and aerial research.
