A delegation from Coca-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited (CCI Pakistan) along with its CEO of Ahmed Kursad Ertin, met with the Prime Minister of Pakistan and announced a $ 50 million investment in the Greenfield project, which the company plans to build in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
It will be the seventh CCI Investment in the country. Completion of this new state-of-the-art facility is planned for the first quarter of 2022. It will be used primarily for beverage needs in northern Pakistan.
During the meeting, Mr. Ahmet Kursad Ertin introduced the senior members of the Pakistan-Turkey Business Council and one of the largest Turkish private investors in Pakistan, paving the way for other Turkish investors. The delegation stated that the proposed project would not only bring significant investment to the region, but also create direct and indirect job opportunities and revenue for the government as well as third-party suppliers, dealers, and distributors.
A report on the socio-economic impact of the CCI’s activities was also submitted to the Prime Minister. The report shows that Pakistan’s CCI value chain adds 865 billion Pakistani rupees a year to the country’s GDP, which is about 1.95% of national GDP. In addition, CCI’s CSR projects, which include the Paani (Water Treatment Plant) project in Pakistan, $ 1million COVID-19 assistance and the recently signed Memorandum of Understanding on the planting of 50,000 trees, were highlighted.
