Pakistan’s leading chemical company, Engro Polymer & Chemicals Limited (EPCL) has announced achievement of commercial operation date of new PVC plant of 100,000 MT per annum.
After the commissioning, EPCL’s total PVC production capacity now stands at 295,000 MT per annum, the largest in Pakistan.
The Board of Directors of EPCL had approved the addition of a new PVC plant of 100,000 MT per annum in December-2017. The project was expected to be commissioned in the last quarter of 2020, however, it was delayed due to the COVID19 Pandemic situation.
EPCL had previously raised PKR. 5.4 billion from the Rights Issue for the PVC Expansion and VCM Debottlenecking.
EPCL is currently working on the Hydrogen Peroxide plant where work resumed during December-2020. The expected commissioning of the Hydrogen Peroxide plant is in by 2022 end. While commissioning of VCM debottlenecking project been extended to June-2021
