Foodpanda Pakistan, the largest food dsitribution platform in Pakistan, has pledged to support the government’s efforts to plant millions of trees in Pakistan.
In cooperation with the Commissioner of Karachi and DG Parks KMC, the first phase of work was carried out at Polo Ground, Karachi, where Foodpanda planted more than 10,000 seedlings.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Naveed Ahmed Sheikh, Commissioner of Karachi, and Mr. Taha Salem, General Manager of KMC Parks and Horticulture, along with Foodpanda stakeholders.
With the aim of supporting sustainability and environmental development, this is the first of many agricultural campaigns of this kind that will be conducted every three months in different cities in Pakistan. Foodpanda riders, sales partners and home cooks, along with Foodpanda employees and government officials, have planted 5 types of young trees.
The seedlings planted were night-flowering jasmine, Arabian jasmine, bougainvillea bougainvillea, curry leaf, and lilac-pink.
Speaking at the event, Foodpanda Pakistan Commercial Director Muntaka Peraca said:
Sustainability is one of our core values and we strongly believe that the future is green living through sustainability and renewable energy.” In the first phase of this initiative, we focus on planting trees in the country with research. Actively advocates for alternative and efficient delivery of recyclable fuel and packaging.
Mr. Naveed Ahmed Sheikh, Commissioner of Karachi thanked the initiative and expressed his support for such activities.
