HBL Islamic Banking division has opened a dedicated Islamic Banking centre for HBL at I.I. Chundrigar Road, Karachi. HBL is the largest private commercial bank in Pakistan with around 1,750 branches and an Islamic banking division providing Shariah-compliant financial services from over 911 outlets across the country.
Liaqat Ali Khan, a branch cashier who has remained associated with HBL family for over 41 years, cut the inauguration ribbon. The inauguration ceremony was presided by Muhammad Aurangzeb, CEO of HBL, and Muhammad Afak Khan, Head of Islamic Banking Services at HBL, along with the senior cadre of the bank.
Commenting on the opening of the branch, Mohamed Aurangzeb, President and Chief Executive Officer of HBL, said:
HBL Islamic Banking continues to expand its presence across the country. The demand for Sharia-compliant banking solutions and services has skyrocketed and this expansion allows us to serve our clients and clients with tailor-made financial solutions while maintaining our leadership as a prominent Islamic banking company in the industry.
Commenting on the opening of the multifunctional branch, Afak Khan, Head of Islamic Banking Services, HBL said:
As the largest bank in Pakistan, we are responsible for expanding our clients’ access to Sharia-compliant Islamic banking products and services. We have expanded the network of Islamic banking branches exponentially. Over the past six months, we will add 200 more specialized Islamic chapters and this year we will expand our coverage to over 300 cities.
