International Air Transport Association (IATA) has recently concluded safety audit of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), and has given satisfactory opinion to the Operational Safety procedures of the national carrier.
IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) team arrived in Pakistan early in September on request of PIA to conduct safety audit of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA). IATA team visited Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Multan, and Islamabad airports to assess the operational management and control systems of PIA.
The Safety Audit report will be released in some time after finalization, however, PIA spokesperson said that the audit remain satisfactory.
The spokesperson of PIA has said that “PIA believes in improving its standard with each passing day. He said that the PIA would completely implement the results conveyed by the audit team”. He further mentioned that, PIA CEO Air Marshal (retd) Arshad Malik thanked the IATA team and lauded their professional expertise during the entire process.
