Pakistani Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) is likely to unveil 2008 Kia Stonic and Peugeot2008 in the coming months, as it venture into other brands in addition to Korean ‘KIA’.
According to market sources, the Kia Stonic will launch in Pakistan in October and the Peugeot 2008 in November this year. The vehicles will be assembled locally at Lucky Kia’s Port Qasim plant, the source said.
Last February, LMC launched the Kia Sorento, which has three options: 2.4-liter front-wheel drive, 2.4-liter all-wheel drive, and 3.5-liter front-wheel drive.
The Kia Stonic is a compact crossover (B-class) manufactured by Kia Motors. Peugeot 2008 is also a small SUV (class B) produced by the PSA group, later named Stellantis.
Seeking incentives under the Automotive Development Policy 2021, several companies announced Pakistan’s locally made vehicles. Companies such as Hyundai Nishat Motor Private Limited (“Hyundai Pakistan”) were created under accordance with Automotive Development Policy 16-21 (ADP) and Lucky Motors Corp were incorporated to avail the incentives being offered.
