The government is expected to announce cuts in gasoline and diesel prices from April 16. OGRA has propsed to the Petroleum Division that Petrol prices to be reduced by Rs 2 per litre.
According to sources, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has sent petroleum officials a summary of changes in petroleum product prices for the next 15 days.
According to the summary, Petrol price could be reduced by Rs 2 per liter, while diesel prices are also likely to be reduced by Rs 2 per liter.
OGRA has suggested not to increase the oil Levy due to the higher crude oil prices.
The final decision on prices for oil products will be made by the Ministry of Finance in agreement with the Prime Minister.
On the other hand, if the federal government increases oil Prices, the prices of oil products may remain the same.
Previously, on March 31, the government had reduced prices for gasoline and diesel fuel.
