Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has notified Pakistan Stock Exchange that it has started commercial gas production from Benari Development and Production Lease

In a statement, PPL, who is a Block Operator 2467-16 (Shah Bandar), announced the start of commercial gas production from Baneri Development and Production (Baneri D&PL) Lease from Shah Banda block, effective May 3, 2021.

According to the details, the block is located in the Thatta and Sujawal regions and is located in the southern part of the Lower Indian Basin.

The Baneri X-1 well at Baneri D&PL is the first exploration well in the Shah Bandar area to be managed by PPL with a 63% stake with its partners in the Mari Petroleum Company Limited (MPCL) joint venture with an operating stake of 32% and Sindh Power Holding Ltd. SEHCL) and Government Holding Private Limited (GHPL) by 2.5% each.

The Shah Bandar JV decided to process Baneri D&PL gas at the Sujawal gas processing facility operated by Mari Petroleum for later injection into the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) network.
