A significant rise in the price of edible goods was reported at Utility Stores Corporation outlets was notifie on Saturday after the matter was approved by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) the day before.
As per the notice, the rate for Ghee was increased by Rs 48 per kg, raising the new price to Rs 251 per kg. Likewise, the price of vegetable oil rose by Rs 29 per liter from Rs 244 to Rs 273.
In addition, the price of shampoo was increased to Rs 20 and the price of tea whitener was increased by Rs 32.
The Ministry of Industry and Manufacturing has previously presented the ECC with a summary of the USC Subsidized Commodity Price Review in line with previous ECC directives.
