SECP has launched the electronic certificate of incorporation to ensure company incorporation process fully electronic and easy. This development is as per standards of Developed Countries and according to SECP’s agenda to bring automation of services through the use of modern technology.

The electronic certificate has launched from 1st January 2021, while physical certificate issuance of the has been discontinued. A new electronic certificate is equivalent to the physical certificate from a legal perspective. The certificate includes various security features including a QR code, SECP monogram, an electronic seal of the registrar, and a weblink for instant verification from the SECP’s record.

After the launch, the process of company incorporation has become fully electronic. The automation was fast-tracked in light of the COIVD19 pandemic, and with a view of further reduce the time to incorporate a company.
