Pakistan Automotive Association released the monthly Sales and Production numbers for the month of October-2020 where monthly Car Sales were up by 25% to 11,997 units in October 2020, as compared to 9,566 units in October 2019.
Indus Toyota and Honda Atlas Cars depicted a strong rebound in monthly car sales as they were up by 120/61%YoY benefiting from the 1,300CC+ segment exhibiting greater rebound, with Toyota Indus pulling sales from Yaris launch novelty factor, while Pak Suzuki continued to have a weak month sales down by 13%YoY with Alto and Ravi sales receding further on annual basis.
Honda was able to sell a total of 8,341 units of City/Civic in first four months of the FY2020-21 marking an increase of 68%.
While Toyota Yaris saw number sales of 3,058 units in the month of October-2020 alone. For Pak Suzuki, Cultus and Alto witnessed declining sales in the month of October as Focus remained on Wagon R with its different Variants.
Industry experts believe that Car sales are now bound to revive and time of low sales is over for the industry in the backdrop of heightened industry competition and demand model launch timeline for new entrants.
