The United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Pakistan, Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al-Zaabi met Federal Minister of Information and Communication Technology Syed Amin Ul-Haq.
The Federal Minister of Information Technology received the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in his office and the meeting discussed issues of common interest, communications and spectrum auction.
The parties agree to bolster cooperation in the field of information and communication technologies.
Information Technology Minister Syed Aminul Haq told the UAE Ambassador that Pakistan values its relationship with the UAE and added that cooperation needs to be improved in all areas, especially in the area of information and communication technologies.
He said that the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology is fully committed to increasing IT exports and steps have been taken in this regard.
He added that remittances from ICT exports rose to $ 2.123 billion, up 47.43% from the previous fiscal year.
Syed Amin-ul-Haq said Pakistan wants to increase IT exports to the UAE.
He mentioned undertaking effective initiatives to provide telecommunications services throughout the country.
He added that the additional Telecom spectrum will be auctioned on September 16.
United Arab Emirates Ambassador Hamad Obaid Ibrahim Al Zaabi confirmed that the UAE and Pakistan have a strong brotherhood.
He stressed that the UAE will continue to fully cooperate with Pakistan in the field of technology.
The UAE ambassador also invited the Federal IT Minister to attend the upcoming, “Global Manufacturing and Industrialisation Summit (GMIS2021)” to be held in UAE in November.
