Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi said the rise in the value of Pakistani Rupee amid the coronavirus pandemic reflects Pakistanis overseas confidence in the current government’s economic policies.
Speaking with state bank governor Reza Baqer in Islamabad on Friday, he said that continuation of GSP Plus status for Pakistan by the European Union, the appreciation in the value of Pakistani Rupee against US Dollar and improvement in other economic indicators indicate that Pakistan is moving in the right direction.
The minister said the Pakistani ambassadors are providing investment opportunities in Pakistan and government-friendly trade policies around the world through economic diplomacy.
He expressed confidence that the government will soon overcome the economic problems facing the country.
Reza Baqer informed the Minister of Foreign Affairs about the activities of the State Bank of Pakistan in supporting the economy, the stability in foreign exchange rate and other economic indicators.
