In September 2023, cement dispatches witnessed a decline of 3.96%, with total dispatches amounting to 4.115 million tons compared to 4.284 million tons in the same month of the previous fiscal year. Data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association revealed that local cement dispatches in September 2023 were 3.544 million tons, down from 3.806 million tons in September 2022, representing a 6.87% decrease. Conversely, exports increased by 19.24%, rising from 478,097 tons in September 2022 to 570,101 tons in September 2023.

In the same month, cement mills in the northern region dispatched 3.035 million tons of cement, reflecting a 7.00% decline compared to 3.264 million tons in September 2022. Meanwhile, southern mills dispatched 1.079 million tons in September 2023, a 5.79% increase over the 1.020 million tons dispatched in September 2022.

Domestically, northern mills dispatched 2.893 million tons of cement in September 2023, down 7.79% from 3.137 million tons in September 2022. Southern mills dispatched 651,287 tons in the local market during September 2023, which was 2.58% lower than the 668,512 tons dispatched in September 2022.

Exports from northern mills increased by 12.43%, reaching 142,226 tons in September 2023, compared to 126,502 tons in September 2022. Similarly, exports from southern mills surged by 21.70%, totaling 427,875 tons in September 2023, up from 351,595 tons in the same month the previous year.

During the first quarter of the current fiscal year, total cement dispatches (domestic and exports) amounted to 11.873 million tons, marking a 23.40% increase compared to the 9.621 million tons dispatched during the same period in the previous fiscal year.
