The National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) of the Government has announced that Lock-down in the economy will be completely lifted from Monday, and all economic activities including public transport will resume service tomorrow.
A special meeting of the NCOC was chaired by Federal Minister Asad Omar, Lieutenant General Hamood Al-Zaman and Special Advisor to PM on Health Dr. Faisal Sultan, who were present via video link.
The Forum reviewed the implementation of standard operating procedures during the holiday and expressed satisfaction. The Forum highly appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders, in particular the cooperation of people across the country.
At the meeting, it was decided that all economic activities in the country will resume the from Monday while intercity public transport from Sunday May 16, 2021 instead of the previously fixed date of May 17. Railways will serve 70% of capacity.
The meeting also decided to open all offices, bazaars and shops from May 17, which will be allowed to work till 8pm, and in the offices where 50% of employees work, normal working hours will be restored.
