The government on Thursday gave approval to an online dashboard to monitor food prices and availability at national, provincial and district levels. The dashboard is developed by the National Security Division (NSD).
The dashboard will use Key Indicators to prevent any food crisis. It will also help in preventing Food hoarding, illegal profiteering.
Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the ministry to take measures to control food inflation in flour, sugar and pulses. He also instructed to increase food exports and find local alternatives to imports to ensure the increase of current account surplus.
Prime Minister was holding a special meeting to review progress of priority sectors. During the meeting, secretaries of the ministries concerned and senior officials were present while chief Secretaries all the provinces participated via video-link.
As per detail from Prime Minister Office, a review meeting will be held every week headed by the Prime Minister to take briefings on the progress of sectors with a special focus.
