The International Monetary Fund has approved a 500 million dollar tranche disbursement to Pakistan for external funding assistance and meeting its budgetary support. The Executive Board of IMF completed its delayed reviews of Pakistan’s six billion dollar loan program.
Antoinette Sayeh, IMF Deputy Managing Director said in a statement saying the latest tranche will bring total disbursements under the Extended Fund Facility to roughly two billion dollars since the inception of the program in July 2019.
The Director said that Pakistan is making continued efforts to progress satisfactorily under the program.
