MMC People, a Korean company, has shown keen interest in establishing a 250MW hybrid power project incorporating both solar and wind energy, utilizing Korea’s Hydrogen Fuel Cell Power Generation System (KHFCPG). This proposed project is slated for the Dhabeji Special Economic Zone (DSEZ) and carries an estimated investment of approximately $500 million. HeeJong Yoo, CEO of MMC People, expressed a strong commitment to exploring untapped opportunities in the Sindh region.
The announcement came during a meeting with Sindh’s Investment Department, where a delegation of South Korean businesspersons discussed potential investments across various sectors, including green energy, agriculture, and electronics. The gathering, chaired by Investment Department Secretary Mureed Rahimoon, included key stakeholders from both the public and private sectors, such as Saleem Shaikh, CEO of Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company (STDC), Abdul Azeem Uqaili, CEO of Sindh Economic Zones Management Company (SEZMC), Faisal Mujeeb, CEO of SEZA, and others.
The discussions revolved around exploring investment opportunities in multiple sectors, with Rahimoon expressing full support for the Korean company’s proposed project.
