Average inflation rate in Pakistan (new base 2015-16) was recorded at 8.91% for the month October 2020, up from 9.04% in September 2020 and 11% in October 2019.
Average inflation in July-October recorded at 8.87 percent, compared to 10.33 percent in the same period last year.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 1.70 per cent in October, compared with a 1.54 percent increase in September.
Market expectations for monthly changes fluctuated between 2.13% and 1.59% with an average estimate of 1.85%.
The urban consumer price index rose 7.3% year-on-year in October 2020, up from a 7.7% increase in the previous month and 10.9% in October 2019. On a monthly basis, it increased 1.3% in October 2020, up from 1.3% growth in the previous month. And an increase of 1.6% in October 2019.
The consumer price index in rural areas increased by 11.3% year on year in October 2020, compared with an increase of 11.1% in the previous month and 11.3% in October 2019. On a monthly basis, it increased by 2.4% in October 2020, up from a 2.0% increase in the previous month and increased.
