The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has approved a 14% increase in gas prices in the country.
OGRA has determined the revenue requirements for Sui Northern and Sui Southern for the current fiscal year.
According to the new Order from OGRA, the increase in gas prices in North Sui was approved by an average of 14%, and the average gas price per 1 million BTU was set at 686.77 Rupees, up by 86.93 rupees.
OGRA has prevented Sui Northern from collecting Rupees 254 billion since last fiscal year and has asked the federal government for an opinion on the matter.
In addition, the regulator approved a 7% increase in the average gas price for Sui Southern Gas Company Consumers. After an increase of Rs 54.47, the average gas price was set at Rs 779.88 per million BTU.
According to OGRA, the gas price has been raised this fiscal year, but the final decision to raise the price will be made after approval by the federal government.
