In the fiscal year 2020-2021 , exports of the country’s food products exceeded $ 4.393 billion and increased by 0.73 percent compared to the same period last year.
In July-June 2020-2021, exports of fruits increased by 11.16%, vegetables by 7.14%, spices by 5.34%, fish and fish products by 1.85%.
In addition, exports of oilseeds and nuts increased by 212.64 percent and that of meat and meat products by 9.62 percent, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
During the last year, the country reached $ 2.041 billion through exports of about 3.691 million tons of rice and $ 1.465 billion through rice exports other than basmati rice.
In addition, 184,396 tons of fish and fish products were exported to the tune of 414.193 million dollars, and in addition to fish – about 95,991 tons of other meat and meat products were exported to the tune of 333.427 million dollars.
Furthermore, 982,269 tons of fresh fruit worth $ 479,929 million and 950,724 tons of various vegetables worth $ 319,882 million were exported in the last financial year.
During the period under review, the exports growth legumes (legumes), sugar and wheat stood negative.
