Petroleum Levy is currently at the lowest level in six years. This was stated by Special Assistant to PM Political Communication Dr. Shahbaz Gill in response to the statement of the leader of the Muslim League (N), Shahbaz Sharif. He said that so far the gasoline prices in Pakistan are lower than in Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, China and India.
He added that despite high oil prices on the international market, consumers were given rebate in fuel prices. He said that those who owned Pakistan as private property, plundered the national wealth escaped responsibility, adding that a corrupt family ruled the land and was responsible for destroying it.
In the name of mediation, Shahbaz Sharif is trying to obtain an NRO for an ineligible family, he said, adding that those involved in laundering billions of rupees money would have to respond. Shahbaz Gil said: “You should not be involved in politics for the sake of the poor.” He noted that, according to the Statistics Office, prices for nine major commodities fell last week, while prices for 19 commodities remained stable.
