Prime Minister Imran Khan has praised the performance of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR). In a statement released on the social networking site Twitter, Prime Minister Imran Khan commented that the Federal Board of Revenue has collected Rs 4,732 billion in taxes for the first time in the country’s history, meeting the revised revenue collection target.

He added that last year the FBR had collected Rs 4,691 billion in taxes, this year the FBR has collected 18 per cent more than its target.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also said that the performance of the FBR was proof that the economy was getting stronger due to government policies.

FBR Tax Revenues in the month of June-2021 accumulated to Rs. 568bn, marking 22% rise from June-2020. The monthly tax amount is roughly equal to the collection of Jun 2018 which stood at Rs. 569bn.
