Prime Minister Imran Khan undertook a visit to Layya where he launched a health insurance program for residents of seven Punjab provinces.
Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, in a Twitter statement, said that the health card will be available in seven districts of Dera Ghazi Khan and Sahiwal region, where the prime minister has launched the initiative.
Buzdar said that under this scheme, all families in DG Khan and Sahiwal region will receive medical cards with 720,000 rupees per family coverage.
PM Imran Khan has said that the state Government Health Card would pave the way for a major health revolution in Pakistan.
He said the country is moving towards universal health coverage.
He said that by introducing medical cards, private hospitals would be encouraged to travel to remote areas and open hospitals there.
