Federal Minister for Energy and Power Hammad Azhar said Pakistan witnessed the highest power generation on Wednesday at 24,284 megawatts, despite Trebela Dam producing only 25 percent of its capacity.
He said that the current government was under criticism from the opposition that the masses are suffering from load shedding.
Experts believe Pakistan’s demand for electricity is much higher than the government’s expectations, prompting energy companies to resort to load shedding in areas suffering from large losses.
He also said that prior to that, the largest production and transmission was 20,811 MW in July 2018.
