Total Investment of PKR 353 billion till date in various construction sector projects in Punjab would generate economic activities worth PKR 1,769 billion and create 315,600 job opportunities. This was told to Prime Minister of Pakistan in meeting of National Coordination Committee for Housing, Construction and Development.
The Chief Secretary Punjab told the committee that applications of construction on 87.03 million square feet in the province, including Lahore (38%) and Metropolitan Corporation (22%), Rawalpindi (18%), Faisalabad (11%), and Multan (10%) have been received which are expected to rise by time.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa told the committee that a total of 3,634 applications (manual and online) received so far with an area of 10.854 million square feet in Khyber Pakthunkhwa, while 3,158 applications (87%) have been approved.
Chief Secretary Sindh apprised the committee that a total of 22 construction projects have been approved in the province.
The prime minister emphasized on the digitization of land records including the state land. He further said no impression should be given that illegal occupation of state lands and Qabza Mafia had the backing of influential political persons.
The prime minister directed provinces to share all the data of state lands to the Survey General of Pakistan so as to digitize the land record.
