As per latest data from State Bank of Pakistan, Roshan Digital Accounts (RDA) have generated $ 1 billion in Deposits till March-2021 end. Roshan Digital Account is a step taken by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to promote banking services in Pakistan for Non-Resiedent Pakistanis in partnership with major Pakistani banks operating in Pakistan. The RDA was launched in September 2020 by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The deposit base in the RDA continues to grow, supported by the aggressive campaign of the State Bank and its banks. The state bank announced on Saturday that RDA deposits have exceeded $ 1 billion since opening last September. To date, as part of national reform programs in more than 100 countries, more than 1 lac RDA have been opened in various banks in Pakistan.

State Bank of Pakistan is soon scheduling an event to mark the $1 billion milestone and thank the Non-Resident Pakistaniss for the support in the critical moments.

Roshan Digital Account was an initiative which allowed Non-Resident Pakistanis to open bank account in Pakistan without the need for a physical presence in Pakistan or any embassy or consulate. Roshan Digital Accounts then further facilitate investments, and payments within Pakistan.

RDA gave Overseas Pakistanis access to a range of banking services and exciting investment opportunities in Pakistan from anywhere in the world. NRPs can invest in Naya, Pakistan, the stock market and real estate certificates through the RDA. Funds in these accounts can be fully refunded without the prior consent of SBP.
