The government is likely to reserve PKR 55 billion for China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in the next budget, while the budget deficit in next year is likely to be around Rs 1.6 trillion.
According to Ministry of Planning and Development officials, approximately 25 CPEC-related schemes have been included in the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the fiscal year 2021-22.
The government has allocated Rs. 55 billion rupees to fund the development work in the next financial year. The CPEC projects are in transition and near to completion.
The total cost of CPEC projects has climbed to 1.6 trillion Rupees, of which 305 billion rupees have already been spent on these programs. According to official data from the Ministry of Planning, the remaining funding for these projects is estimated at 1.3 trillion rupees.
