In September 2023, Turkiye’s consumer price index (CPI) increased by 61.53% YoY, up from August’s 58.94% YoY, as reported by the Turkish Statistical Institute.
On a monthly basis, the CPI showed a slower rise of 4.75% MoM, compared to the previous month’s 9.09%. The twelve-month average for the CPI was 55.3% YoY. Housing had the smallest increase YoY at 20.16%, while restaurants and hotels saw the highest rise at 92.48%.
Excluding unprocessed food products, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco, and gold, the CPI changed by 5.06% in September 2023 compared to the previous month, 54.66% compared to the previous year’s December, and 67% compared to the same month of the previous year.
