The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) has accelerated the construction of 12 small and medium sized dams aimed at improving clean energy production. water availability and climate resilience across the country.

It is added that among the small to medium sized dam projects initiated in Balochistan is the Winder Dam Project, which will generate 0.3 megawatts (MW) of electricity and 0.036 million acre-feet (MAF) of water capacity, Naulong Dam, which will generate 4.4 MW electricity, The Hingol Dam to produce 1 MW of electricity and holds 1.41 MAF, the Garuk Dam with 0.3 MW of electricity and 0.05 MAF of water storage, and the Pelar Dam produces 0.3 MW of electricity and saves 0.099 MAF of water.
