WAPDA has awarded a contract for consulting services for the Greater Karachi (K4) Water Supply Project. The contract is worth Rs 1.14 billion and has been awarded as a joint venture. The joint venture consists of an Austrian company and two Pakistani companies.
State Minister for Information Farrukh Habib said before the K4 project Memorandum of Understanding ceremony that the fate of all Sindh government projects lies ahead.
He said How could the Sindh government in such a situation build such a large K-4 project? The people of Karachi have been in the hands of the tanker mafia for decades to stop the exploitation of the people of Karachi.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said the K4 plans would be useful in the context of the Karachi Change. Four projects have been submitted to WAPDA. When the K-4 project is completed in October 2023, Karachi residents will have access to another 650 million liters of water.
