Pakistan Navy Ship ALAMGIR (PNS ALAMGIR) has participated in Joint exercises with Japanese Maritime Self Defence Force Ship, ARIAKE, Royal Oman Navy Ship, KHASSAB, Russian Federation Navy Ships, STOIKY & KOLA, and United States Navy Ship, JOHN PAUL JONES, in the Gulf of Aden Area in the Arabian Sea.
As per the DGPR Navy, the exercises were held primarily to increase interoperability and improve the collaborative efforts to ensuring maritime security in the region.
PNS ALAMGIR is a the moment deployed to undertake Regional Maritime Security Patrol (RMSP) in the Gulf of Aden and the North Arabian Sea.
These Naval patrols are conducted as an initiative by Pakistan Navy to contribute toward maritime security of the region and to support international efforts against the Piracy, maritime terrorism, and arms/drugs smuggling.
As per the statement, the Pakistan Navy remains to remain committed to playing its role in ensuring regional maritime safety and security. The Regional Maritime Security Patrol deployment and participation in exercises by PNS ALAMGIR highlight Pakistan Navy’s resolve to ensure peace and order at sea while maintaining close relations with friendly navies.
