After uncalled for departure of New Zealand from Pakistan without playing a single match, the upcoming tours of English And Australian Cricket teams to Pakistan is likely to be cancelled.
A Cricket Australia spokesman has said that the organization will monitor the situation and speak with the relevant authorities as more information becomes available before taking any decision.
It is highly likely that Australians will follow the Kiwi foot steps and refrain from visiting Pakistan as both countries remain largely in consensus over International Issues.
Meanwhile, in the next 24-48 hours England will decide to cancel the men’s and women’s tour of Pakistan.
England has a visit to Pakistan scheduled in October-2021 while Australia has a scheduled tour to Pakistan in February and March 2022.
New Zealand on Friday cited government recommendations to cancel Pak tour based on threat level in Pakistan and warnings by security advisers on the ground.
Pakistan’s cricket board is expected to incur millions of Rupees in financial losses due to cancelled event. This is in addition to Reputational Loss which not only PCB but whole nation faced. Years of efforts from PCB, Government and Military went in drain when New Zealand unilaterally cancelled the tour.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister sense an International Conspiracy behind the NZ decision.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) is expected to announce its decision regarding Pakistan tour in next week.
