Drug Regulatory Authority has developed and rolled out a mobile application for Consumer reporting of adverse drug reactions.
The application called “Med Safety” was developed by the UK Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) in the UK.
After a simple registration process, Med Safety users can report adverse drug reactions and offer immediate acknowledgement of their reports.
Users can also view and add updates to reports previously submitted via Med Safety. It also allows users to create their own medication watchlist.
Explaining the reasons for introducing Med Safety in Pakistan, a DRAP spokesman said the drugs were designed to be as safe and effective as possible, but still cause side effects. It is important for people to report side effects, as this information can be used to identify previously unknown problems with these drugs.
