ACCA and IFAC have characterized the next decade as critical for Generation Z accounting professionals.
The report from the Association of Certified Public Accountants (ACCA) and the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) titled “Gen Z and the Future of Accounting”, states that the next decade is exciting and full of opportunity for Accounting professionals and their employers.
A recent report by the ACCA and IFAC includes a survey of more than 9,000 young people between the ages of 18 and 25, including 495 Pakistani accountants.
According to the survey, 58% of Pakistanis believe that the future of accounting is bright and offers attractive career opportunities. Employment opportunities are limited or unreliable, according to 61%.
The report further states that “Generation Z had expected to inherit a stable work environment with record unemployment. But instead what’s happened during a very formative stage of their careers is an international catastrophe, the kind of crisis that none of the previous generations that are actively working today have faced. So, they will definitely be stressed and scared”
