A Toronto-based Pakistani Doctor, Dr. Naqeeb Khalid has designed an instant smart mobile-based diagnostic test for coronavirus. It was stated by Pakistan’s High Commissioner to Canada who congratulated the Doctor on the achievement.
The High Commissioner held a video meeting with the doctor and said that the idea of conducting a COVID-19 test via a Smartphone is highly appreciable, and expressed his hope that the subsequent trials on his invention will remain effective as it will make the test process quick, hassle-free, accessible, and affordable.
Dr. Naqeeb Khalid mentioned that his design has targeted Instant, accurate and low-cost testing method which does not rely on laboratory testing as going to Laboratory for testing is itself a great risk in the times of a pandemic. This new test design will help contain the outbreak and bringing normalcy to life.
Dr. Naqeeb Khalid is a graduate of King Edward Medical University, Lahore and has worked in the field of medical devices and systems.
