Sindh CM Syed Murad Ali Shah announced on Thursday that vaccination against Covid-19 is mandatory for every citizen of the province, and has ordered a salary suspension for unvaccinated government officials starting from July-2021.
He stated this at a meeting of the working group for coronaviruses in the CM house.
“We must ensure the safety of our citizens through some strict measures,” he said, ordering the health ministry to set up vaccination sites in all corners of the province.
“I want to announce at least 300 basic Health units as rural vaccination centers to vaccinate up to 30,000 people a day,” he said.
Murad Ali Shah, who gave another task to the Ministry of Health, said that five mobile vaccination teams should be set up at each taluka level. “We have 605 taluka/tehsil and must vaccinate at least 60,000 people a day,” he ordered.
The Chief Ministers also ordered the Ministry of Health to vaccinate 10,000 people in 90 private hospitals that are already authorized to vaccinate people. The Minister of Health has ordered the registration of other private hospitals for vaccination.
Murad Ali Shah ordered the Chief Secretary of Sindh to give one month time period to all the government / semi-Government / local government employees and to stop paying officials who are not vaccinated till June End.
During the meeting, it was disclosed that out of 661 intensive care beds with Vents, 77 were occupied, of which 74 were in Karachi. Similarly, out of 1811 beds, 626 were occupied, of which 510 in Karachi.
