According to a study published in the prestigious American medical journal, Chinese Sinopharm vaccines remained effective in containing Covid-19. This is the first Independent study on any Chinese vaccine

The vaccines developed by the Sinopharm vaccine division of China National Biotec Group Co. prevented symptomatic infections by 72.8% and 78.1%. The results were published May 26 in the Journal of the American Medical Association and were in line with what Chinese companies have previosuly stated

The Chinese vaccines Sinopharm and Sinovac Biotech Ltd. were previously criticized for insufficient data on safety and efficacy.

The international scientific community in the past criticized the lack of transparency in the Chinese vaccine development and had raised doubts about the ability of vaccines to contain Covid, especially after the number of cases in countries such as the Seychelles and Chile increased, which used them to vaccinate a large part of their population.

The study, published in American Medical Association Journal, involved 40,832 volunteers from the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, and Jordan. The participants were divided into three groups and received either two doses of vaccine three weeks apart or a placebo. 26 participants who were given no vaccine under placebo effect, developed the infections. While those who received the actual vaccine under the experiment remained safe from serious infection.
