The National Clearing Company of Pakistan Limited (NCCPL) has announced the Revised Capital Gain Tax (CGT) rates for Pakistan Stock Exchange, Mutual Funds, and Pakistan Mercantile Exchange under Finance Act, 2021.
As per the NCCPL notification, applicable capital gain tax rates for the year 2021-22, have been increased for Non-Tax Filer investors.
For investors in PSX and Mutual Funds, where the holding period of security is more than four years, no Capital Gain Tax (CGT) will be charged.
While Tax Filing Investors having holding period more than 4 years will be charged up to 12.5% in capital gain tax and For Non-Filing Investors Capital Gain Tax will be charged at 25%. For Filing Corporate Investors, rate is fixed at 25%, while for Non-Filing Corporates, Rate is fixed at 50%.
