Pakistan’s leading Online Health Platform, Marham.pk has said that it has raised $ 1 million in seed funding to expand the app.
The first round was spearheaded by Indus Valley Capital, a Pakistani private equity fund founded by former LinkedIn CEO Atif Awan, who previously invested in Pakistani Airlift and Bazaar, the company said. Indonesian owner Weihan Liu also took part in the funding round.
Previously the company raised $ 150,000 from friends and family, and raised the total funding to $ 1.15 million, as per the company.
Marham.pk, was founded in 2016 by Asma Salman Omar and Ehsan Imam, and claims to be the first digital platform to help patients find qualified doctors and book appointments through a website, mobile app and phone line. The startup also claims to have registered 20,000 doctors in 67 cities in Pakistan and has helped over 10 million patients through its network.
