Trukker, a Dubai-based startup that provides truck hailing services through its digital platform, has acquired TruckSher from Pakistan as it seeks to expand its operations in the South Asian country and accelerate growth. The company did not disclose the amount of the transaction, but said it was the first company to take up road freight transport.
Trukker, which currently has over 35,000 truck fleets in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Egypt, was founded in 2016 and is backed by major investors in the Middle East and Africa, including STV in Saudi Arabia, the Fund Riyad Taqnia fund, World Bank. Silicon Valley development partners also support the company.
Trukker is a Digital Logistic Network which helps meet Demand & Supply for land based freight services. The Trukker platform is built on real-time data analytics which supports reliability, transparency, and utilization and help savings for Shippers and thousands of transporters.
The Pakistani company TruckSher began operations in early 2021 and has raised seed money from Sarmayacar, a private equity firm based in Lahore. The company is based in Karachi and Lahore, plans to expand its operations in key industrial areas and ports in Pakistan.
