On Thursday, two memorandums of understanding (MOUs) were signed to establish software technology parks in Faisalabad and Rawalpindi.

In this context, the ceremony took place in the committee room of the Ministry of Information Technologies. The guest of honor was the Federal Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui.

The software technology park will be set up in Faisalabad on the 19,500 square feet area of Sitara Chemicals. This will be first software technology park ever set up in Faisalabad.

In Rawalpindi, a software technology park will be established at the 44,000 square foot Amazon Outlet Mall to meet the technology sector’s demand for additional technology software parks in Islamabad / Rawalpindi.

Information Technology Secretary Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqi said the current government is prioritizing the IT industry: improving Pakistan’s economy, creating jobs, and improving living standards in general. As a result, the industry enjoys strong government support and very attractive incentives. There are several projects aimed at promoting the development of the IT industry and ensuring a continuous dynamic of growth in domestic and export revenues.

He praised IT professionals and entrepreneurs for the success of the Pakistani ICT industry for Pakistan, which has achieved excellent growth in remittances and has become the largest net exporter in Pakistan’s services sector.
